Hotel in Lombok
The Hotel in Lombok is conceived as a coastal retreat where architecture is deeply rooted in both the island’s surf culture and its tropical identity. Located along one of Lombok’s most desirable surf coastlines, the project is designed as a destination of refined comfort for surfers and travellers seeking full immersion in nature and ocean-facing living. The hotel is organised as two main volumes that step down towards the beach and fully open to the ocean, ensuring continuous visual and physical connection with the coastline. Public spaces such as the restaurant, pool, and communal terraces are positioned to capture sea breezes and sunset views, while guest rooms are oriented to maximise privacy and direct engagement with the surf landscape. Materiality is conceived in close dialogue with the surrounding forest and coastline, where timber echoes the rhythm of the palm trees and natural textures anchor the project in its context. Large openings and shaded outdoor areas dissolve the boundary between interior and exterior, reinforcing a relaxed, open-air way of living shaped by climate, landscape, and coastal life.
