Twin Houses
The Twin Houses in Ericeira are conceived as a pair of parallel dwellings that share a common architectural logic while expressing subtle variations in orientation and spatial experience. Set within a coastal context, the project explores, seaview, and privacy as the main drivers of design.
Each house is organised around open-plan living spaces that extend naturally to the exterior through large glazed openings and protected terraces. While the volumes remain formally consistent, slight shifts in layout and views create distinct atmospheres within each unit, balancing autonomy and connection between the two homes.
Materiality is restrained and continuous, reinforcing the clarity of the volumes and their relationship to the landscape. The result is a calm and precise architectural composition, where repetition becomes variation and domestic life unfolds in close dialogue with light, air, and the surrounding Ericeira landscape.
