Loft in Rome
The Loft in Rome is conceived as a contemporary reworking of an existing urban industrual interior, where spatial continuity, light, and structure define a new domestic landscape. Located within a dense Roman context, the project transforms the original layout into an open and fluid environment, characterised by a strong vertical dimension and a clear separation between living and sleeping functions through subtle spatial thresholds rather than solid partitions.
The intervention focuses on clarity and reduction, using a restrained material palette to enhance the perception of volume and light. A central void organizes the space, allowing natural light to penetrate deep into the interior while reinforcing the sense of openness typical of loft living. Custom-designed elements integrate storage and functional needs into the architectural composition, maintaining a continuous spatial flow.
The result is a minimal yet atmospheric domestic space, where architecture is reduced to its essential structure, and living becomes an experience of light, proportion, and calm urban intensity.
