Photographic Studio

The Photographic Studio in Vailate is a project of reuse of an industrial warehouse within the evolving landscape of northern Italy’s post-war transformation. Located in a territory shaped by rapid industrialisation, the existing structure becomes the framework for a new light-touch intervention, where architecture is reduced to its essential minimum in order to preserve the raw character of the building. Conceived as an open scenographic space, the project reorganises the former warehouse into a sequence of flexible environments dedicated to photographic production. Lightweight, prefabricated timber elements are inserted to host technical spaces, services, and back-of-house functions. The result is a white, fresh new interior where permanence and temporality coexist.
