Uplifting Spiral
The Uplifting Spiral is virtual experience developed for the Metaverse Architecture Biennale 2023, conceived as a spatial counterpoint between material weight and digital immateriality. The project is defined by a solid cubic volume of 64x64x64 meters, rendered in an earthy, textured surface that contrasts the often pristine aesthetics of virtual architecture. Within this monolithic form, a continuous spiral void unfolds as the primary spatial generator, guiding visitors through an ascending journey inside the structure. The circulation becomes an experiential narrative, where the act of moving upward reveals a sequence of “digital sketches” displayed at monumental scale, transforming the interior into a hybrid space between exhibition and ascent. The project explores tension between mass and void, grounding the conversation on virtual architecture to the roots of the discipline of architecture.
